OK,
Well a buddy of mine who use to be a certfied mechanic, but moved on the bigger an better things helped me put a new clutch in my HG 1995 noma manual tranny.  It wasn't hard, but it wasn't easy. The biggest PITA was the 2 upper bolts on the bell housing.  They were close to impossible to get to.  Thank GOD he had every tool that was made plus some homemade gadget tools.  So my pointers are have at least 18" of extensions plus wobble sockets and wobble attachments.  Also on the D/S there are gas lines that you have to deal with but there is a buried bolt on top of the tranny to get to to release the it.  Also there will be a wire loom that drapes across the top of the bell housing that plays havoc on getting to the top bolts.  Deal with it and once you drop the tranny there will be plenty of room to push them up and out of the way to ease the installation.  Bleed the clutch release cylinder (slave cylinder) attached to the tube that goes to the master cylinder before you bolt it into the bell housing. We did it while it was mounted to the bell housing but we couldn't build enough fluid pressure while the piston was pushed against the release plate.  So after 2 hours of frustration we hit a brick wall, plus went through about a gallon of DOT3. Thanks to the emmense help from collierrunner finally got it dailed in.  Bleed it before to mount it!! Now it shifts like a 2010 Sonoma Ho Getta'.  Also make sure you have a tranny jack, it makes it alot easier.

Shop qoute - $780

Parts - $240
lunch - $13
hours - $10
Oh almost forgot aboutHeineken- $14

It is all good because I use to be his boss with my last Army postion.  He was my Heavy Equiment Supervisor and did awesome work for me.  I recommended him for a $10, 000 bonus every year and he said he owes me this. So he saved me about $500

Nice job!
I've paid for a clutch in the Sonoma like 3 years ago (40k miles or so on it).
Cost like $1200.
Wish I would've done it myself! Sounds like it wasn't too bad Bruce.

Of course the full tranny rebuild and another clutch last summer courtesy of Pirate Lab wasn't fun either haha.

Thanks, over all it wasn't that hard except for the "fuck you" bolts on the top of the bell housing.  Good thing my buddy had every tool made, and some that were never made.
