is it worth getting one.  a friend said he would sell me one from an 88 toyota pickup.  its an 8", spring under and it is wider than the dime axle.  also from my experiences, toyota axles are very strong, i have never seen one break.  should i get it?

yeah, they are. The 6 lugs are alittle stronger and when they went from a straight axle on the 4x4s to IFS thats when they got wider. I believe the 2wds are a 7.5" though not 8"
