If you have larger tires which it looks like you do, then it will make a pretty major difference. It will accerate a lot harder. It will help with gas mileage mostly in city driving.

regearing all depends on what you want, it can make alittle difference or a big difference. On my s10 it came with 3.73 gears, I am now running 33" tires and regeared to 4.56 gears. With that size tire and those gears I should be almost geared the same as if I had the stock tire size. with the 33s and if I never regeared I would be alot slower accelerating but would have a high top speed if I could get that fast with the lower acceleration. Another example is on my suzuki samurai, I rock crawl with that so I dont need it to go fast but I need it to have alot of power while going slow. I regeared the transfercase in that from I think 2.29:1 to 6.5:1 now at 60 mph I'm at 4500 rpms in 5th gear but I can idle straight up a wall in 1st gear low. basically if you want to beable to hit higher top speeds but have less power than get higher gears, if you want to accelerate faster and have more power then gear lower.
