I'm doing an 8.8 spring over swap and have a couple questions for you guys.

With the spring perches level, the pinion is angled up about 8-9 degrees. I measured this on the garage floor, not in the truck. Should I weld the new perches parallel to the original ones, or change the angle?

Also, in an old post by RedBaron on another site, he said he moved the axle forward .75" to get more drive shaft engagement and some slack for the e-brake cables when he did the SOA. I think that was with the stock rear. The new how-to on here doesn't mention this. Has anyone found this necessary with the 8.8?

It's in. Still need to connect the brakes and e-brake. Oh, and lift the front. It's -2 front +6 rear. hehe

So do you have the answers to your above questions? Do you have any close up pictures of the rear end?

I welded the perches parallel. I don't know if this is correct, but it seems to work.

The e-brake cables have enough slack because they enter the s-10 rear under the axle and the ford mounts are higher up.

I didn't move the axle forward, don't know if you should or shouldn't. Time will tell.

I was doing burnouts in front of my house and the axle didn't fall off, so I guess it's good enough. I'll post some more pictures in a couple days.

You clean the snow off of it, and I'll take pictures   ;D

I'll take some pics after my spindles come in. I'm just not motivated to work on this thing right now. Sorry, Christmas has me burned out.

Anything specific you want pictures of?
